Hi Bruce,
Was deleting my old comments and noticed your reply of having ridden to the city. So a fresh invite to join my AC groups and receive the BUG News.

– Vote For Cyclists

State Govt elections are due this year in March, so can we lobby for improvements?

Hi Bruce, before using a cycle route for the first time, you may like to find more info at these links:

  1. DPTI maps at

  2. Rail Trails at

  3. South Australian Trails at

  4. NatureMaps (SA government)

In particular, try the DPTI maps for the route from CBD to the Veloway to Seaford. During the daytime and to avoid the traffic, I get onto the Westside Bikeway, turn left at Marion Road, turn right just after the tram crossing, then fiddly bit to get onto the River Sturt Linear Park with shared path. Come out close to South Road, and another fiddly bit to get onto the Veloway. I turn left off the Veloway to make my way to (Patalinga Road?) then onto the Sea to Coast shared path, to head towards Lonsdale. I think Seaford would be before my left turn. (need to register but free for average person) with its aerial views might help you with the fiddly bits.

Let me know if you still have probs finding this route. Involves many councils, so who would be responsible for installing signs. Perhaps seek a grant from Transport in DPTI.

Cheers, Heather
