Thursday 6.15 pm from Henley Beach

Posted on October 16, 2009 at 14:55 0 Comments

Thursday, 6.15 pm: 30 kilometres from Henley Beach Square (near the jetty). Two rides leave from there. One is a bit slower and cruisier (sub 30 kph, I think - I've never been on this ride) while the other is faster (it has varied when I've been there from a 32 kph average to a 35 kph average). Last time had a few old Trojans (one on a track bike) that kept the pace fairly high. Nice little sprint finish back toward Henley Square. With a tail wind behind you, you can shoot along the foreshore… Continue

Training Rides in Adelaide

Cyclists can be a cliquey bunch - joining a group ride can be more intimidating than a your first mountain climb, your first criterium or your first date.

In common with all of these life changing events is the need for confidence and communication.

Here, I'd like to list a number of training rides with information about location, time, pace and attitude. As opposed to your usual ride guide, I'd like to make this something of a series of reviews. Please feel free to add… Continue

Hi Alexander, just wondering if this SSCX group is still active here. I've ridden the last three CX events here in adelaide on my SSCX bike but have yet to find any others doing the same... Are there others out there interested still?

Alexander, if you did mind me copying your post, I would have removed it. If you peruse group Look For Cyclists, you will notice that I am putting together reference material for cyclists regarding collisions and near misses, which unfortunately seem to be too common.

Alexander, I have copied your post 'Legal Definition of Assault' of 10-Jan-2011 on the group Look For Cyclists.

Thanks so much Alexander. I'm in Woodville Gardens. I don't have the tools that are needed for the job so I can bring my bike to you if you like.

Hi Alexander, If you're still willing to help with the crankshaft for my trek, please let me know what details you need to check whether you have something suitable for my bike. You may need to step me through what you mean by things like square taper bottom. I can send photos if that will help. The temporary fix by dad's mate is kaput and I'm off the road at present :(. Really appreciate your offer.

Dude! I haven't been on my bike in almost 3 weeks, let alone a long ride on a mtn bike and you're out telling people that I'm super fit! You have me scared shitless for this ride, and I'm very much considering piking! :P

Haha, that's because I'm keen to find out what this cyclecross and polo is all about, sounds like awesome fun just when I'm lacking a bit of motivation for straight riding. :)
