Bikes for the STTARS from the Bike Workshop

Photo (C) STTARS, Adelaide.

STTARS is a small Adelaide not-for-profit, which helps refugee families overcome severe trauma. It's skilled specialied work and STTARS is about the only organisation in Adelaide, which provides this service.

Every December, STTARS run a camp for children, and  the Bike Workshop contributes bikes. As the above photo shows, the kids love them. Whatever kids have been through - on a bike, they can perhaps forget about their troubles and just have fun riding around with their friends. .

Just to pass on the email Kimberly Nefyn of STTARS sent ...

Hi Mike

A BIG THANK YOU to you and your team for bringing together and donating the large number of bikes for our under 12 y/o camp!!
It was a fantastic camp and one of the highlights for the kids was riding bikes!!
Many of the children don't have bikes at home, so we had the idea of giving the bikes away to those that don't have bikes at home.
This also assists us in the fact that at STTARS we don't have space to store the bikes...unfortunately we can't store them for next years camp.
However this allows the children can continue enjoying their love of bikes during the school holidays!
Thank you again!!

Kim & CYP team, STTARS

Well done volunteers - BrianJ, Ali, Stephen, Taqi, Tamba and Don, for helping check the bikes and get them ready to hand over. Thanks also to people who donated these bikes to the Workshop.

We also send adult bikes to STTARS during the year, on request - e.g  when counsellors think their clients might find riding, beneficial.
