Spotted this sign on the Majors Rd entrance to the Veloway this morning. Unsure what works are happening and couldn't see anything on the dpti.sa.gov.au web site. Perhaps they are going to do some…Continue

"Yes dear friends, the ABC news announced that the road has opened at 6am this morning. With 250 people working on the project 24 hours a day, this has been quite an achievement. Would love to hear how cyclists go negotiating this intersection."

Extract from Tready Bike Shop Web site. The First Sunday of the Tour Down Under week has quickly become a huge celebration of cycling in Adelaide, and for the last couple of years we’ve closed our street to bring a little Treadly flavour to that. This year’s event will be a showcase of all things Australian in the cycling world, and we’d love for you to come down and be a part of it.MAKER will be a mini-exhibition of frame builders, craftspeople, brands, organisations and artists within the…See More

"Tram lines can catch you out if you're turning across them, no matter what the angle relative to the bike. Any competitor attempting to overtake another is at risk over the tracks nest area. My shot of the intersection from yesterday:"

"To get a wheel caught in the tram track, you've got to be riding almost parallel to the track as you cross it. This happens on Jetty Road, because the tram track is shared with other vehicles. But I don't see how it could happen in the…"

Hard to believe....

Went past the intersection of North Tce and King William St today and took this photo of the tram line works underway. By all accounts they are working on the intersection 24 hours a day 7 days a week and will have it finished by Monday 15 January. With the TDU using this section of road in two weeks time I think it will be a remarkable achievement to have this finished in time. We could see a lot of bike carnage at this intersection in the future with wheels getting caught in the tracks.…See More

Time now to plan for that Winter Getaway

Posted on November 1, 2012 at 18:42 4 Comments

I know summer hasn't even started and already I've booked my winter escape for next year. Those long cold Adelaide winters really get me down. For the past few years I've booked a winter getaway in Darwin, just for a week and the break lines up with the Skycity Triple Crown.

Darwin in June is just fantastic, warm sunny days around 30 to 32 degrees, usually with a light breeze. Lovely bike paths that run past the water front and wharf precinct . The Mindil Beach markets run on a…

Um, that video was really disgusting, but funny, but also not really suitable being basically an ad. Probably better for Facebook so I've removed it.
Thanks

Trevor, you own more bikes than Jeremy of BISA. Do you recall the AC competition?

The 2 bikes for sale that you told me of -- what condition are they in? Then I can tell the older woman about the bikes. I cannot guess what she is prepared to pay (her original bike cost her $40 S/H) because one might wonder at aged 80 how many more years one will cycle (or live). Which suburb do you live in (distance to travel to look at the bikes)?

Hi Trevor, an interesting concept to ride 21 bikes in 21 days. Any main reasons for doing this? Does your household own 21 bikes? Cheers, Heather

Hi Trevor, do the 2 bicycles have back pedal brakes? The woman put her bike out for kerbside recycling when having trouble changing the tube and tyre. She is reluctant to try anything new at her age but perhaps she could be talked into using brake levers. Cheers, Heather

Tevor, Are you selling a woman's / step thru bike with no gears and a back pedal brake? Looking for one for an 80-year-old woman. Heather.
