Ever since the council repaired this bridge with those fake decking panels I now get an electric shock form my brakes when I reduce speed to exit the bridge.

It only happens on warm dry nights so I guess its not a big problem for the rest of the year.

its clearly static electricity but I always thought rubber tyres were exempt.

Well that's a novel experience I have not had off of my bike (the car lots of times).

I wonder if one would get a glow on a dark night with the right conditions?

Reminds me of the nylon carpets in a school I once went to, shuffle along in rubber soled shoes and zap someone on the back of their neck with some energetic stored electrons.

Perhaps keep your fingers just on the levers to stop the build up of static.

Well well! My school must have had the same carpets - zapping times were had!
